Make A Gift

As a nonprofit educational institution, the Nieman Foundation relies on the generosity of its supporters to fund the various fellowships and programs it sponsors each year.

There are a number of ways you can help sustain Nieman’s important mission to “promote and elevate the standards of journalism and educate persons deemed specially qualified for journalism.”

Current giving options include:
  • Unrestricted Gift to the Foundation
  • Directed Gift to Foundation (indicate program)
  • International Fellowships
  • Global Health Fellowships
  • Nieman Journalism Lab
  • I.F. Stone Project for Journalistic Independence*
* Additional information about the I.F. Stone Project, which encourages and honors journalistic independence, is available at www.ifstone.org.


Donations to the Nieman Foundation can be made online through the Harvard University giving site:
  1. In the “Gifts Details” section of the donation form, choose “Nieman Foundation” in the “Select a school to donate to” section.
  2. Pick one of the six giving options in the “Select a fund within that school” menu.
  3. If making a directed gift, please indicate the purpose of your donation in the “Additional Information” box.




If you prefer to mail your gift, please make your check out to the Nieman Foundation and include the name of the fund you’d like to support. Send to:
