About the Nieman
Fellowship Program
The Nieman Fellowship program is the oldest and best-known mid-career program for journalists in the world. More than 1,300 journalists from the U.S. and 88 other countries have come to Harvard for a year of learning, exploration and fellowship.
Nieman Fellows are provided the opportunity to step back from deadlines, renew their intellectual curiosity and enrich their understanding of the topics they cover.

Christopher Cousins to Cover Maine Statehouse
Christopher Cousins, a member of the Class of 2007, has accepted a position with Statehouse News Service, which offers in-depth coverage of the Maine Statehouse and state government. Cousins said that this new assignment represents a welcome and exciting challenge. “The opportunity to return to writing and cover state government was one that I couldn’t pass up,” he said.

Roberta Baskin and the WJLA I-Team Win Top Award in TV
Roberta Baskin, Class of 2002, and the WJLA I-Team won the Emmy for Outstanding Regional News Story – Investigative Reporting. The news story "Drilling for Dollars" covered the I-Team’s reports on local dental clinics abusive treatments on Medicaid children.

Lipinski Takes Post at University of Chicago
Ann Marie Lipinski, longtime editor and managing editor of the Chicago Tribune, has been appointed to the newly created post of Vice President for Civic Engagement. She was a member of the Class of 1990.
