Shaping Stories for the Book, the Blog,
the Broadsheet, and the BlackBerry
The Nieman Seminar for Narrative Editors is an intimate weekend bringing together 10 of the top teacher-practitioners and 60 narrative editors from across the country and abroad.

Most attendees are news editors working in newspapers, magazines, radio, and TV; they come to learn how to produce rich stories, whether in print, online, or over the air.

The faculty includes some of the most dynamic veterans in the field, making for an informative gathering that is rigorous, fun, and mind-opening.

In numerous sessions, we will cover all the bases of narrative, from start to finish:

Which topics work, and in what length?
How to report for narrative;
How to wrestle all that material into an artful story;
How to make sentences sing;
How to place that story in a larger package;
How to play fair, be ethical, and navigate the new newsroom.
