Michelle Hiskey |
Michelle Hiskey is a staff writer at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, where she focuses on features related to sports. She has worked at the newspaper for 20 years — starting as an intern &mdash in various departments and beats. Michelle was part of a team named a Pulitzer finalist for coverage of a courthouse shooting in 2005. Her work has won the Cox feature writer of the year, Georgia sports story of the year and other awards. She has taught writing and notetaking seminars at the National Press Club, Poynter Institute, Cox Academy and at the university level. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Duke University, with a BA in English. She backpacked around the world with husband and fellow reporter Ben Smith. Today they and their two daughters live in Decatur, Ga.
