Kim Hone-McMahan

Kim Hone-McMahan has been a staff writer at the Akron Beacon Journal since 1989. In that time, she been involved in everything from investigative journalism to covering natural disasters. About three years ago, she began concentrating on narrative journalism. Last year she won third place for a narrative feature by the American Association of Sunday and Feature Editors (75,001-175,000 circulation) and was named best feature writer in Ohio by the Associated Press (daily circulation of more than 75,000) for a narrative series. That same body of work was a finalist in the 2006 Dart Awards.
