Kevin Robbins |
Kevin Robbins joined the Austin American-Statesman in 2000 as a feature writer for the Life & Arts pages. He became a general-assignment sports reporter in March 2002. Before coming to the American-Statesman, Robbins was a staff reporter with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch; The Commercial Appeal in Memphis, Tenn.; The Hawk Eye in Burlington, Iowa; and The Olathe Daily News in Olathe, Kan. He also wrote for Kansas City Magazine for two years and spent the summer of 1994 as a national correspondent for the Scripps-Howard News Service in Washington D.C.
A native of Kansas City, Robbins graduated from Central Missouri State University in 1988 with bachelor degrees in journalism and psychology. He earned a master's degree in 1995 from the Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University with a dual emphasis in creative non-fiction writing and modern American history.
Robbins and his wife, Suzanne, live in Austin with their daughter, Lila, who loves to tell outrageous stories, and their son Henry, who loves to listen to them.
