Christofer Machniak is working toward a master’s degree in English at the University of Michigan-Flint. In the fall 2009 semester, he will teach an online journalism class at this same university; in the winter, he will again teach news editing. He worked for The Flint Journal for more than 11 years, including as interim opinion editor, copy editor and reporter. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Michigan State University in 1998, where he worked for the school newspaper.
